A Walk Through The Garden

I took a little stroll through my garden yesterday.  My new camera went with me.  It was so nice to have it in my pocket.

I had to replant the flowers after the huge rains came in the spring and washed out my seeds.

I was beginning to wonder if the sunflowers would make it, but they are now growing by leaps and bounds.  I can finally see the flower heads developing.

Several different zinnias had been planted.  Now I only have 2 varieties.

Zinnias are known for their vibrant colors and also for their hardiness.

There is nothing like a pretty bouquet of zinnias to add a cheerful, summery touch to your home.  I love to arrange a few for the kitchen table.

Butterflies love zinnias and so do I.

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend, too!

Until next time...

Your new camera is wonderful - such beautiful pictures today!! I love Zinnias - they remind me of when I was a girl at home, my mother always had lots of them in her garden. They really are so colorful! The colors in the butterfly are beautiful too, you can really see the blue come through, just gorgeous!

  14. This amazes me, I have never seen a marbled zinnia!! I cannot wait till your sunflowers bloom! Right now, I am looking all over town for them. and also, you have to find them before they get as tall as a house, else no macros!! LOVE the butterfly. And I must say that I am having as much fun with your new camera as you are. It has really brought out your talent as a nature photographer.

  16. Yes, that camera is a keeper. Wonderful shots. Zinnias are my favorites. Don't know why I didn't plant any this year. Maybe last years drought and 100 plus temps had some bearing. And here we have had just delightful weather. Hard to judge.
