Good Fences

This fence is at the entrance to one of my favorite places that I visit a few times every year in our nearest city, Columbia...the Shelter Insurance Garden.  After a recent visit on a very hot and sunny day, I turned as I was leaving and took a quick shot.  Then I hurried to the car and turned up the a/c as high as it would go!
Thank you to all who left such kind, sweet comments on my post yesterday.  I wanted to email each of you individually, but I am taking the easy way out and thanking you here since I've been so busy.  I'll share with you, hopefully tomorrow, what's been keeping me busy most of the week besides appointments.

Linking to Theresa's Good Fences at the Run*A*Round Ranch.

Happy Thursday to you!

  1. Good fences to me mean on the farm. It means our livestock staying home and neighbor's livestock not visiting! It is an ongoing process. Our fences are quite good, but yesterday a stray Hereford heifer showed up. This means DH will have to check fences........again.

That fence in Columbia is a beauty.

  5. Cheryl I just showed CH your picture because guess where we were last week? I didn't take a picture of that fence but the one that goes around the pond on the way to the outside part of the park. At the water feature where peeps sit under the roofed area. So funny, I almost used a picture from there today. The fence around the oriental pond too! Love your shot of the curved stone wall. It was hot when we went there too and we went after eating at Mandarin House. HOT! The gardens looked better than they have for a couple of years. That is so beautiful at the Shelter Gardens. Oh and the bird bath is full this morning.. ;)

  8. Perhaps on an autumn day, you'll be able to stroll through the gardens. You've given just enough of a glimpse to make me wonder what's back there. Wonderful wrought iron fence!

  9. Beautiful.

I like to see stone fences. They really aren't that common anymore, and neither are iron fences.
Most folks take the easy route, and put up vinyl.

  15. I am still thinking about your brother --and about ALS.... Just breaks my heart.... God Bless YOU and the family. My sweet daughter-in-law (school teacher in GA) took the Ice Bucket Challenge today --and she challenged one of my sons (her hubby's brother) to take the challenge.

I love the rock work in that fence.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  17. One of this days I am going to join this party. I have a thing for fences and love to find them and photograph them. Iron ones are a particular favorite of mine, especially when set in stone like that. Lovely!!
