This fence is at the entrance to one of my favorite places that I visit a few times every year in our nearest city, Columbia...the Shelter Insurance Garden. After a recent visit on a very hot and sunny day, I turned as I was leaving and took a quick shot. Then I hurried to the car and turned up the a/c as high as it would go!
Thank you to all who left such kind, sweet comments on my post yesterday. I wanted to email each of you individually, but I am taking the easy way out and thanking you here since I've been so busy. I'll share with you, hopefully tomorrow, what's been keeping me busy most of the week besides appointments.

Happy Thursday to you!

Good fences to me mean on the farm. It means our livestock staying home and neighbor's livestock not visiting! It is an ongoing process. Our fences are quite good, but yesterday a stray Hereford heifer showed up. This means DH will have to check fences........again.
ReplyDeleteThat fence in Columbia is a beauty.
That is so very beautiful! You wrote a wonderful post yesterday....very touching and sobering. I read it and thought about it for a long time. Have a good day my friend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI understand that move?!!! Quickly rushing back to the car and its A/C!!!! You betcha.

Love the curve in the wall!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, an iron fence AND a stone wall in one. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteCheryl I just showed CH your picture because guess where we were last week? I didn't take a picture of that fence but the one that goes around the pond on the way to the outside part of the park. At the water feature where peeps sit under the roofed area. So funny, I almost used a picture from there today. The fence around the oriental pond too! Love your shot of the curved stone wall. It was hot when we went there too and we went after eating at Mandarin House. HOT! The gardens looked better than they have for a couple of years. That is so beautiful at the Shelter Gardens. Oh and the bird bath is full this morning.. ;)
ReplyDeletebeautiful scene. love the greenery, the wrought iron, the curving stone. :)
ReplyDeletethis is a beautiful fence, love the stone and metal and the greenery... and i know i would like what is inside. the heat here is killing us... at 5 am it was 82....
ReplyDeletePerhaps on an autumn day, you'll be able to stroll through the gardens. You've given just enough of a glimpse to make me wonder what's back there. Wonderful wrought iron fence!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like to see stone fences. They really aren't that common anymore, and neither are iron fences.
Most folks take the easy route, and put up vinyl.

I can see myself doing the same thing...taking the shot out of blogging compulsion, and then blasting up the AC!! :D Nice fence and stone foundation.
ReplyDeleteCheryl,
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful fence. I would love to see it from afar also. Hope you get caught up on all your busy things. xoxo,Susie
You have a nice eye to catch that little curve in the wall and fence!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pretty fence, Cheryl! Being busy is my state of life these days--who knew babysitting grandkids at this age would wear me out?LOL! I hope you've been bust fr happy reasons!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, it is a pretty fence scene..I am glad the AC works good in my car.. Enjoy your evening and the weekend ahead.
ReplyDeleteI am still thinking about your brother --and about ALS.... Just breaks my heart.... God Bless YOU and the family. My sweet daughter-in-law (school teacher in GA) took the Ice Bucket Challenge today --and she challenged one of my sons (her hubby's brother) to take the challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love the rock work in that fence.
Hugs,
Betsy
Love wrought iron fences. This one is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOne of this days I am going to join this party. I have a thing for fences and love to find them and photograph them. Iron ones are a particular favorite of mine, especially when set in stone like that. Lovely!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love the wall.
ReplyDeleteI do love this fence; in fact I wish we had one like this. Blessings for the good shot on this one!
ReplyDeleteWonderful fence . . .
ReplyDeleteThat is it. Exactly the kind of fence I would like around my property.
