It was a beautiful Christmas and we are still looking at our gifts and eating leftover turkey and cookies and candy and pie....oh my!
The kitties got to open their gifts first. Oh yes! Stormy loved her new red mouse. She rolled and tossed the catnip-filled mouse for quite a long time. We finally had to make her move so we could open our own gifts!
Santa was good to me and I got new earrings, a scented wax warmer, new Christmas ornaments, gift cards, a CD, a neat earring holder (because Santa knows I love my earrings!), and a Nook, which I can't wait to set up and have time to read! I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but that was just the gifts under the tree. I'd already gotten an early gift of a new winter coat and boots!
I have to say that I know boots are all the rage now, but I'm just not a big wearer of boots. It's mostly due to this bum ankle of mine that I broke years ago and they're just not comfortable. However! Sometimes MissouREE weather calls for boots and I needed to be prepared! I'd just as soon not wear a coat either, but I will if it gets really cold. That little rascal, Callie, put a tear in the arm of my coat I just bought last year. Would anyone like to have a cute little calico?
I do hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I have a question. Do you leave your tree up for a while yet, or do you take it down as soon after Christmas as you can? I like to keep mine up until New Year's Day most years. The lights are so pretty that I want to enjoy it as long as I can.
Enjoy your Friday and the weekend!!
Until next time...
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas celebration. I leave up my decorations for the TWELVE DAYS of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Cheryl! If I could go barefoot all year long, I would. Hate constricting my feet, and also don't like wearing heavy coats; might have to do with living in Greece for 25 years.
ReplyDeleteWe keep our tree up until the Epiphany, which is on January 6th.
Have a lovely weekend!

Oh oh....you too love earrings as I do? When I worked outside the home, [and had extra money to spend on myself...lol] my goal was to have 365 pairs of earrings. Never did accomplish that goal...but oh how I love earrings.
ReplyDeleteWonderful time spent at Christmas, love the first picture, Francine.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. I hate to say but mine came down yesterday, I usually put it up pretty early, a thing we started when the kids were all home, they couldn't wait for it to be up and usually by Christmas it would be in such sad shape that it always came down a few days after.
ReplyDeletei usually change it up - some times i take my tree down right away. others leave it up for a while. not sure what i will end up doing? i am enjoying it right now.
ReplyDeleteyour cats look so tired & lazy. glad you had such a fun Christmas!! ( :
Kitties come first, don't they. lol I'm so glad you had a nice Christmas. Happy New Year if we don't converse again!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've had a really good holiday...and got some special gifts. I take things down when the mood strikes me. I feel it coming on! heehee! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteglad you had a good one. cute sprawled out kitten! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful Christmas day.
ReplyDeleteCallie looks quite content too :)
You were obviously quite good this year.
ReplyDeleteIf I had put up a tree, it would have come down in the first hour thanks to my calico. Want to trade? Kidding of course.
Enjoy that e-reader. Wonderful inventions.
Sounds like Santa was very good to you this year! Happy to see the kitty cats enjoying their treats as well. Now that we have made it through thanksgiving and christmas and ALL the leftovers, I need to go on a serious diet!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis MissouREE person is so happy that you got you some BOOTS!!! Yay! They could have come in very handy 3 or 4 days ago when it was all ice a frigid temps here. I had on my red BOOTS! Sounds like Santa was very good to you Cheryl. You will love your Nook. I have an older one but it is still a wonderful invention. So easy to order up a book and read right away.. :) We are still eating leftovers too, I may cry when they are gone. We were naughty and gifted ourselves all December because we got out first Social Security checks.. ack. Yes I will take Callie but I think if I tried you might get me!!!! Our teeny tree will be up till New Year's Day along with the candles in the windows. Enjoy the weekend and our sunny MissouREE weather!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and got a lot of nice gifts! I like to leave my tree up until New Years. I like looking at the lights too.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
oh it sounds like you had a wonderful christmas!!
ReplyDeletei leave my trees and all my decorations up until new years day....then we have the big tear down!!
then i wonder, why in the world do i put out all these decorations. next year i will scale down....but i never do!!
Sounds like you had a great day. Love the kitties. Naughty or nice they are precious.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good Christmas for you!
ReplyDeleteI have to ask what a Nook is though. At first I envisioned a secret corner your hubby built for you, but I'm thinking maybe not!
I got earrings too! Big surprise for me.
ReplyDeleteThat now...it one beautiful kitty! I am not a big fan of leftovers but we do have plenty. I fix them for the family, but I usually grab a bowl of cereal. I am a taker-down-R......I do love the lights, but since I usually end up doing all the work, I try to go ahead and get the Christmas decor boxed up as soon as possible.
Hope your day is wonderfully Blessed...

I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to you. I love the photo of the beautiful kitty. I hope you have a joyful and blessed New Year.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful Christmas all around.
ReplyDeleteYou must have been a good girl this year. I hope when the Nook is up and running you'll share your thoughts and tips here. Ha! That way I can blow the dust off mine and start using it. I'm so technologically challenged.
You and I are thinking alike on the decorating question today. I leave mine up until after New Year's Day. I like to enjoy the entire season with the lights.
I love me some earrings.I have only had my ears pieced for a couple of years so I never wore them much before.I didn't find the clips comfortable. As for the tree,I put mine up the middle of November and the day after Christmas it usually comes down.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas! You will love your Nook. I have one of the first Kindle's & love to read on it. One of these days I'm going to get a more up to date one!
ReplyDeleteAnd my tree is still up! I decided to leave it up and enjoy it a few more days.
I know you had a great Christmas. Your tree and packages look so pretty. I started tonight gathering up some of our decorations. I always have the kitchen table full with my Christmas china and all. I decided I would stack up the plates and maybe start putting them away tomorrow. I want us to clean out the china cabinet before placing the dishes back for another year. My husband and I are disabled so will have to do a little at a time. We don't take out what we use to because we are alone now. Our children are in CA and OK and our parents are dead. Our son and his family were here from CA for a few days at Thanksgiving so we did some celebrating then.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and yours a great New Year.
Love,
Marie
Thanks for your visit and post.
Sounds like a wonderful Christmas!! I don't wear boots either as I have a bad ankle also!! Coats? Rarely
ReplyDeleteSince it's fake, I can leave it up for the twelve days of Christmas. It's those calm, unhurried days I most enjoy.
ReplyDeleteWow! You really did enjoy a wonderful Christmas!
Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas! Your cat sure did. ;))
ReplyDeleteCute kitty! I love the leftovers from Christmas dinner.. My snow boots are more outdoor boots than for dress. I will be taking my tree down on New Year's Day.. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best in 2014, and a very HAPPY & Healthy New Years!
Beautiful sweeties :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year !
You received some wonderful and thoughtful gifts Cheryl -- enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAnd we just have a little tree that I do keep up for Christmas week thru New Years.
Belated Christmas greetings, Cheryl, and your previous post of holiday collages was beautiful, thank you. Glad to read how joyous your celebration was with good food, family and gifts too. Yes, we would definitely leave our tree up beyond Christmas and the New Year, sometimes as late as the 1st week in January depending on how the live tree was holding up. The past couple of years, we have not had a live one because of various reasons. This year, our tree was very small, but it did have lights and tiny ornaments and we enjoyed it for a short while before leaving home to support family in RI and NJ, where we are now. Thanks so much for your comments and visits to our blog during the past year. Many thanks for sharing your events on your blog. We wish you all the best in the coming new year!
ReplyDeleteOh...I will take Callie...lol I know you'd never give her up! Sounds like you had an amazing Christmas! I hope you enjoy all your gifts as much as your kitty did..with the catnip! ha..ha!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Yes, it looks like you had a lovely Christmas. Those to cats are just so cute; I loved the pictures. We let our dog Sammy play with his new toy right a way. He is so cute with it. He plays rough so his toys are replaced as needed.
ReplyDeleteWe leave our tree up until after New years. There have been a few years when it has been up longer due to just not wanting to let the season go.
Blessings and hugs!
