I have scads of my own moon photos, but none of them as good as yours- and believe me, I use them for painting inspiration, so seeing one in my favorite color (cream), is exciting!

A suggestion for something new- try the mountains of Colorado! The country is flat until you get 1/2 way in the state, and then it's as pretty as Tennessee (so I've heard). Durango has lots to see and do and the best eating places! We haven't had snow since January - so unless something outrageous comes in, the roads are clear...
Good luck deciding where to go!Laureli https://www.blogger.com/profile/03648493780017930693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5215549670320492394.post-28091080075383700892011-02-20T16:07:37.526-06:002011-02-20T16:07:37.526-06:00Vee...that sounds like that might be a good idea. ...Vee...that sounds like that might be a good idea. We kind of do that on day trips.

Ark. Patti...can I borrow your dog? We wish we didn't live on such a busy highway or we would have one.

Joani...I got lucky in the timing on my moon shot I think. The next time I tried, the moon wasn't as high and it didn't turn out very good.

H@H...thanks for your comment, I hope we go somewhere even if it's just for the weekend!

Rambler...we need one of those rollers. Our yard is looking ugh. I'm going to try the juicy fruit someone suggested. Looks like a mole invasion of our whole town, lots of others have the same problem.

Thanks for the suggestion of Franklin, TN. I'd like to go there sometime. Our son and his GF just went to Nashville and went on to Franklin for a side trip. Our birds at the feeder have slowed down considerably but I am seeing lots of Nuthatches, Chickadees, Titmousies and a Brown Creeper hanging around on the Oaks!

Our yard is full of moles! CH rolls over the runs with a big old roller attached to the lawn tractor and then sets these wicked looking traps. We have had some luck, but the moles are winning the war.

Franklin, Tennessee! You would love it Cheryl. I've not travelled around the Missouri area so I can't offer any helpful suggestions, but I hope you come up with something fun.Happy@Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15748146424809856063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5215549670320492394.post-14223727701554637542011-02-18T15:08:58.114-06:002011-02-18T15:08:58.114-06:00I tried a moon shot but mine didn't work out. ...I tried a moon shot but mine didn't work out. My dog manages to dig up about 4 a year but that doesn't put a dent in the huge population.
Good luck.Arkansas Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156004753267665579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5215549670320492394.post-73116902586499706022011-02-18T14:15:32.760-06:002011-02-18T14:15:32.760-06:00Sounds like fun to take off...what about taking of...Sounds like fun to take off...what about taking off without a plan? They sound like great ideas and I will check them out. Graceland is not at the top of my list, but really just somewhere to go that I haven't been in a long time and in driving distance.

Tammy...thanks for the juicy fruit idea. Will have to try it. Now, I can't say for sure if it worked or not.. but there was a decrease in mole hills after that. And I noticed more yesterday too, so I need to get some juicy fruit again! I'm in the same boat as you on the vacation - no ideas! Never been to Graceland, but definitely on my list!! He never got rid of them.. Google "Getting Rid of Moles" and maybe you will find something.

There are 3 places in Arkansas that we recommend. BUT--they are not resort type places. They are state parks with gorgeous mountain hiking trails and views... IF you don't like being out in nature and being in the mountains, these are not for you...

Anyhow--one is Mt. Magazine State Park. They have beautiful cabins, a fairly new lodge and restaurant and lots of hiking trails.

Our fav is Mt. Nebo. We always get Cabin 60 --on the top of the mountain with a great view. There are lots of hiking trails, a place to view both sunsets and sunrises, lots of deer and wildlife, but no restaurants. We usually take our own food.

The third place is Petit Jean State Park. This one has cabins plus a lodge and restaurant.. There are also lots of great hiking trails...

Just my ideas... Good Luck finding what you want. If you want a place like Graceland, then you probably do not want to go to a state park.

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
BetsyBetsy Banks Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16223591156634767330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5215549670320492394.post-85378023195974537222011-02-18T12:55:40.182-06:002011-02-18T12:55:40.182-06:00Spring is coming and I love the moon shot!Spring is coming and I love the moon shot!Ms Bonhttp://whywomenwine.comnoreply@blogger.com
